Do you feel like there is something missing in your life? Do you feel like your relationship with God is not as strong as it could be? Do you need a break from all the hustle and bustle? Do you need some people that you can confide in?

If you answered yes to any of these questions then Growth Groups may be for you. Growth Groups are groups of 8-10 people that meet weekly to discuss a common study that pertains to life issues. At Gassaway Baptist we understand how hard it is for you to keep it all together. We’ll admit that none of us have it completely together, but together we’re striving to be more like Jesus. Let’s face it; people need people to survive in this life. Sometimes there are things in life that catch us off guard and we have no clue on how to handle them. At other times we think that we have everything going for us. It is often in those times that we discover that we have not mastered life, but, it has mastered us. We need wisdom from God to carry us through the challenging times. Growth Groups provide wonderful opportunities for God to speak through His Word, Holy Spirit, and His people. Sometimes you just need someone to encourage you when you’re running on empty (Rom. 1:12).

God does not want for us to be Cowardly Lion Christians. He want for us to grow (Luke 2:52) Inwardly, Upwardly, and Outwardly.

Inward:
This word is used to describe the spiritual change that takes place inside of a person. It is the life-transformation that is always talked about. It is the renewing of our minds, the new creature, and the person who has come from darkness to light. This is not something that happens instantaneously. It takes a lot of hard work. It involves small groups of people keeping one another accountable over life issues in which they are struggling. It literally means applying God’s Word to the tough areas in our lives so that our deepest wounds will be healed.

Upward:
This is the word that describes the worship experience that comes from a surrendered heart to God. It is a focus on the Creator, the One who died on the cross, and rose again from the dead. It is our worship that God desires. He wants for us to give Him all of the glory in all things. When we worship God together He shows up in our midst (Matt. 18:20). It is our desire for you to experience God in a fresh way.

Outward:
God desires for us to grow outward as individuals and as a church. He loves us so much and is not willing that any should perish (2 Peter 3:9). He wants for us to grow outward in ministry (projects in the church) and evangelism (projects outside of the church). He wants for us to tell the world about the good news: He is alive!

We have a lot of different groups and studies to choose from at this time including men’s studies, women’s studies, mixed studies, and couples studies. Our class days and times vary throughout the week.
